Spend a day with us at Zone 28, an all ages entertainment spot, in Harmar, PA. A quick 40-minute drive from the South Hills straight up 28N, Zone 28 is the perfect thing to do if you're looking for indoor fun for kids in Pittsburgh.
This writer and her family were graciously hosted by Zone 28, but all experiences and opinions are her own.
We did the arcade first, with each kid having a $20 game card. It was “happy hour,” but $20 in gameplay seemed to go pretty far. The kids got to play sports games, VR, claw machines, and ride on. Overlooking the arcade is a lounge area with a dozen or so tables for parents to sit at, adjacent to the Real House bar.
After the arcade games, we spent an hour bowling. It was so fun seeing everyone’s silly photos pop up next to their name on the digital scorecard. We loved that we could use bumpers or not at the touch of a button at any point during the game.
The food was amazing. We ordered three platters (that were entirely too much for 6 people). To give you an idea on size the platters are bigger than 16” pizza trays! My kids ranked their top 3 apps in order:
Fries
Pretzels
Hot pepper cheese balls
We ended our day with a game of laser tag. I’m honestly not sure where else in Pittsburgh you can go to play laser tag but this laser tag course is incredible. It’s massive and laid out well with lots of hiding spots. I would love to go back there with a group of adults 🤣
Overall, my family had a blast at Zone 28, and we'd love to return. I love the size of the venue - for all the attractions they have, it’s laid out in a way that is totally manageable being there with kids. This experience was great for all of us, my 9- and 12-year-olds and their friends, me, and my father-in-law. For more information, visit https://www.zone28.com/
