Beechview is a neighborhood with long-established families and businesses, and the Library has been an integral part of the community since 1967. After an extensive renovation in 2014-2015, this neighborhood Library continues to serve the community with a revitalized and modern space.

Recognized for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED), this neighborhood Library is located on Brookline Boulevard among the many local small business, old and new. CLP – Brookline’s bright, welcoming space provides a community anchor for neighbors of all ages.

Carrick, located on the southern edge of the City of Pittsburgh, is known as “The Hilltop.” It has beautiful views of the surrounding valleys plus excellent public transportation. Established in 1929, CLP – Carrick remains an important community gathering space and critical resource for literacy and learning. The Library continues to meet the changing needs of its patrons throughout Carrick, Overbrook and the surrounding Hilltop area.

This neighborhood location shares a community space with Greater Hazelwood Family Center. Come by to discover local art by Homestead artist David Lewis and unique reading programs like Reading Buddies from Hazelwood Reads Together.

CLP – Mt. Washington is located directly across from one of the scenic overlooks on Grandview Avenue. The Library opened in 1900 and was one of the first of the neighborhood-style libraries built by Andrew Carnegie.

CLP – West End is the second Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh location to open to the City of Pittsburgh. This Library recently received historic designation from the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation. The first children’s storytime in Pittsburgh and possibly the country was held at CLP – West End.

Dormont Public Library is an independent community library located in the South Hills which works to empower, educate, and inspire the members of the Dormont community and the surrounding Pittsburgh area through a wide offering of social, academic, and community-based programming. These programs help to establish the Dormont Public Library as a place of learning and growth.

The Pleasant Hills Public Library is our community's resource for life-long learning and leisure. We strive to provide our community with access to information and resources, provide a cultural center, work with community partners, and offer serve learners of all ages.
